One size doesn't fit all!

Which mobile platform do you think will be most successful?  Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Phone 7, WebOS, or Android? Use the poll on the right to vote.  I think Android will be the most successful, but that should be pretty obvious.  I think Apple is making the same mistakes that they made years ago with the original Mac.  History is repeating itself.  Microsoft Windows killed Apple Macintosh because Microsoft chose to put their software on hardware made by many different manufacturers.  Android is doing the same, and I think it will have the same outcome.  Apple’s marketing bubble will finally burst.

I remember when a tech blog announced that Android would be put on different devices with different screen sizes on some “lower end” phones, and I thought “that’s great,” and then shortly after that an Apple biased blog claiming that Android would be fragmented.  Fragmented?  Really?  I would call it ubiquity.  I really find it odd that iPhone developers whine about how hard it is to develop for Android because there are different screen sizes.  Did they come from corporate web development where everyone was locked down to IE6 and had the exact same screen?  Is it a little harder to develop for different screen sizes and hardware, sure, but you can target different Android versions and some different hardware versions.  Eventually the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 are going to be released, and they will probably have different screen sizes.  What will iPhone developers say then?

One size doesn’t fit all.  People like different things, have different budgets, and want different screen sizes.

Don't forget, use the poll to vote.
